Freedom to Belong

Our Freedom to Belong program was launched in Fall of 2020 when we received the Age-Friendly Communities grant.  Due to popular demand, we decided to adopt this program and run it as a regular FSTRA program.

Our Freedom to Belong program is designed for riders over the age of 50 who are interested in learning how to ride, while developing hands on stable management skills.

Riders looking to register do not need any horse experience.

“It was one of the best things I did for me! It provided me with hands on learning opportunity about something that has always fascinated me. I am very glad I had this time to learn to ride.”

“This was such a blessing. I got to ride at a price I could afford. Life and health issues are stressful and riding is good for physical and mental health. Thank you!”

Day and time varies with each session.

Please contact our Program Coordinator at for more information as well as a registration form

What is involved

Our Freedom to Belong program runs for 10 weeks in the Spring and in the Fall.

Within those 10 weeks riders will partake in an hour riding lesson and an hour stable management lesson once a week.

Riders will be taught the basics of horse knowledge and well as basic riding level skills.
